To put it briefly, “Love Spirits” is a read that should not be overlooked and has me already hooked on the author’s writing style.I’m a big fan of the protagonist, Louisa Mangotti, already – the author has crafted her to a great standard in a way that makes her seem dynamic and realistic in almost every scene, and her interactions with other characters feel genuine and natural.
I also think that the concept of the Venetian Ghosts is really unique and adds a great deal of substance and intrigue to the story which, in turn, strengthens the overall mysterious vibe of the book. In summary, “Love Spirits” has proven to be an excellent start to the “What Happens in Venice” series – and I absolutely cannot wait to see how the story plays out.

A great read!!
So descriptive, it's just like you are in Venice! Characters are being developed and the plot is thickening. Leaves you wondering....Of course, you can't wait until Part II!
With all due respect to a successful author, this was maybe the worst book I have ever read--although I gave up on it after only a few chapters because it was so boring. Having lived in Italy for a number of years and visited Venice numerous times, this mystery must have been written prior to her first trip to Venice because her knowledge of the City and its history, her descriptions of Italian men and women, and things Italian in general is just inches deep. I kept waiting for the mystery part to begin, but the story quickly gets bogged down in steamy make-believe flirtation and sexual encounters. Hard to believe the previous readers reviews. They must be very close friends of the author or have poor taste in Italian mysteries.
Sorry for panning the story, but it really is not worth the price of the kindle version.

Diana has accomplished what I frequently look for in a book, and seldom find - an original, creative, fun yet intriguing story! Her knowledge of Venice is obvious and provides a fabulous in depth travelogue. The story is delightfully original and mysterious. And above all, it's thoroughly enjoyable! I just discovered this trilogy so have the other two waiting to read, and am very much looking forward to reading them!
The fascinating journey awaits.. Wowza! Okay, I love Venice, kind of have a soft spot for Italian men and the mystery of a good ghost story keeps me on my toes... This sassy little number has combined all the above! How did one woman do that you ask....? Mysteriously, cleverly and with all the sex appeal of a warm Venetian evening. Do not deprive your self of this sweet little journey into the piazzas and gondolas of the worlds favorite impossible European city. Diana Cachey is a gem of a story teller-

I felt like I was in Venice while reading this book. I could imagine walking over the bridges, riding in a gondola and sipping espresso in a café. I enjoy a good ghost story and this one keeps you intrigued. I can also relate to Louisa having had a Matteo (though he wasn't from Venice) in my life as well. I was also intrigued with mystery man Massimo, is he real or of another world. I am looking forward to the second and third installments of this story. Anxious to see what happens next.
